Campus & Facilities

Academic Building

Our main academic building is the intellectual heart of the campus. It houses:

•       Lecture Theatres — Large-capacity, tiered, air-conditioned lecture halls equipped with high-definition projection systems, surround audio, and live-streaming capability for remote learning.

•       Seminar Rooms — Smaller, interactive rooms designed for case-based learning, group discussions, and problem-based learning (PBL) sessions.

•       Tutorial Rooms — Intimate spaces for individual mentoring, small-group instruction, and clinical skills coaching.

•       Faculty Offices — Open-door offices for academic faculty, ensuring accessibility and informal mentoring opportunities.

Clinical Simulation Centre

The BIMI Clinical Simulation Centre is the jewel of our infrastructure — a facility that enables students to develop and refine clinical competencies in a safe, controlled, and consequence-free environment before encountering real patients.

The centre is equipped with:

•       High-Fidelity Patient Simulators — Advanced mannequins capable of simulating respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological emergencies including cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis, airway obstruction, and labour.

•       Procedural Trainers — Dedicated task trainers for IV cannulation, arterial blood gas sampling, suturing, nasogastric tube insertion, urinary catheterisation, lumbar puncture, and more.

•       OSCE Examination Stations — Standardised stations used for formative and summative OSCE assessments, replicating real licensing examination conditions.

•       Standardised Patient Programme — Trained actors who portray patients in realistic clinical scenarios, developing students' history-taking and communication skills.

•       Emergency Medicine Bay — A fully simulated Accident & Emergency environment complete with resuscitation trolley, defibrillator, and emergency drug kits.

•       Surgical Skills Lab — For basic surgical techniques including knot-tying, wound closure, and laparoscopic trainer box exercises.

•       Obstetrics Simulation Unit — Dedicated birthing simulator and neonatal resuscitation station.

•       Radiology Reading Room — Equipped with PACS workstations for reading X-rays, CT scans, MRI images, and ultrasound studies.

Anatomy Department & Dissection Hall

A rigorous foundation in anatomy is the bedrock of clinical medicine. BIMI's Anatomy Department features a fully equipped dissection hall where students engage in cadaveric dissection under the supervision of experienced anatomists — an experience increasingly rare at many medical schools but considered indispensable by our faculty.

The department also houses:

•       Prosection display specimens for self-directed learning

•       3D anatomical models and anatomical atlas collections

•       Digital anatomy software (3D4Medical, Visible Body) on dedicated workstations

•       Histology laboratory with binocular microscopes for tissue study

Pathology & Microbiology Laboratories

Hands-on laboratory work is a central feature of the BIMI curriculum. Our Pathology and Microbiology laboratories are equipped to international safety standards and enable students to:

•       Perform and interpret haematological and biochemical investigations

•       Conduct microbiological culture, staining, and sensitivity testing

•       Study pathological specimens and histopathology slides

•       Carry out ELISA, PCR, and basic molecular diagnostic procedures

Medical Library & Learning Resource Centre

The BIMI Library is a modern, digitally integrated learning resource centre that supports the entire spectrum of student and faculty academic activity.

•       Print Collection — Over 15,000 titles across all medical disciplines, including international reference textbooks, clinical atlases, and examination preparation guides.

•       Digital Access — Subscriptions to international databases including PubMed/MEDLINE, Elsevier ScienceDirect, Cochrane Library, UpToDate, and Access Medicine.

•       E-Library Portal — 24/7 online access to e-books, journal articles, past examination papers, and video lectures through the BIMI Learning Management System (LMS).

•       Study Zones — Individual study carrels, group study rooms, and silent reading areas.

•       Research Support — Dedicated research librarians who assist students and faculty with systematic literature reviews, citation management (Mendeley/Zotero), and academic writing.

IT Infrastructure & Digital Campus

Student Accommodation

BIMI provides safe, comfortable, and affordable on-campus and affiliated off-campus accommodation for international students. All hostels are:
